FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. If team registration is over, how can I add people to my team?

Unfortunately, due to the increased number of teams and team members this year, we had to make September 19th our cut off for the teams.  This means that you are more than welcome to keep recruting people to join you on race day, but they will not be recognized as part of your team.  This by no means means that they can't walk with you or be apart of your team picture, their donations will be counted as an individual versus adding it to your team total.

2. Where to I park?

Parking is available for FREE at LP Field.  Follow this link for directions and a parking map.

3. How do I get downtown?

There are a variety of ways to get downtown.  For directions to LP Field follow this link.

4. When do I get my t-shirt?

All individuals and teams registered on or before September 19th will have all their race materials mailed to them.  Individuals who registered after September 19th will have to pick up their race materials prior to race day on Saturday, September 26th and Sunday, September 27th from 10:00 am to 4:00pm at the Greater Nashville Affiliate at 2131 Bandywood Drive, Suite 200.  Day of race t-shirt pickups will be first come, first serve after the race in Hall of Fame Park.

5. What is I didn't register for a chip and want one?

You can still register for a chip until 8:30am on race day.  Day of registration will be available for chip timing or you can go directly to the chip tent (look for the black baloons) and be added into the competitive run.

6. Where do the survivors go?

Survivors are invited to join other Survivors and a guest at the Survivor Cafe located in the parking lot of the Hard Rock Cafe.  Hard Rock Cafe is located at the corner of Broadway and 2nd Ave.  The Survivor Cafe will be open from 7:00 am to 10:00 am.

7. Where is the Three Miles of Men?

Three Miles of Men groups and individuals are encouraged to line up throughout the race course.  Richard Stooksbury will be featured on the Three Miles of Men stage at the Roundabout on Demonbreun.  You are more than welcome to make your own meeting place and decide where along the race course you would like to line up in order to cheer on the 2008 Race for the Cure participants.   You can still register to be part of the Three Miles of Men at www.komen-nashville.org.

8. What does the wrist band do?

With the expansion of the Race Villages and the increased entertainment this year, we are asking all participants to wear the green wrist band.  We are able to quickly move you through the entrances into race villages and it will allow us to make a disctinction from those participating in the race and those that are not.

9. Where are team pictures?

Team pictures will be on the steps of the Schermerhorn facing the Hall of Fame park on 4th Ave.   Photos will be available at backprint.com/bcc.  All monies raised through the purchase of the pictures will be donated by to Susan G. Komen Greater Nashville.

It takes approximately 400 volunteers to put on the Race for the Cure.  We need as many willing and able volunteers to help prior to the race, setting up the day before the race and running the race.  Then we need to clean up after the race....But if you volunteer on race day you receive a very cool volunteer t-shirt, a huge pat on the back and an invitation to the 2008 Thank You party!!!  To register as a volunteer go to www.komen-nashville.org/volunteering or send an email to volunteer@komen-nashville.org.

16. Are there activities for kids?

There is a HUGE Kids for the Cure area this year and we are still adding to it.  To register the kids log onto www.komen-nashville.org.  Remember this is not a babysitting area, but rather an event that can get children involved in learning about caring for Survivors and being a part of the healing process.

17. What happens if it rains?

This event will occur rain or shine.  We reserve the right to cancel in extreme circumstances.  In that event, there will be no refunds; rather, your entry fee will be used as a donation to the Komen Greater Nashville Race for the Cure.  Thank you for your understanding.

If you can't walk 3 miles you are still able to participate in the 1mile fun run/walk or go ahead and just join us for all the festivities of the day.  If all else fails and you get out on the course and need help, we will have the Nash Trash Tour Bus picking up walkers that need a little bit more assistance.
